Paper ID: C2025-00033 ABSTRACT: International standards related to pipeline integrity allow the pipeline operator to use “other technologies” as integrity inspection methods, provided that its implementation can provide similar understanding of the condition of the pipeline as that provided for the explicitly accepted integrity inspection methods, namely test pressure, in-line inspection and direct assessment. This philosophy have been applied in PDO in the trial application of new technologies in order to find a reliable “other technology” for the integrity inspection of the buried non-piggable pipelines”
This paper is intended to present the criteria used for the trials, the results obtained after the trial application and lessons learned from such a search.
